It is the Word of God. The men who wrote down the words were as much an instrument of God as the utensil they used to write it with.

It is infallible and inerrant. It is 'norma normans non normata' or 'the standard of standards by which all standards are judged'.

 

It is authoritative. The foundation of our faith. The reason for the Reformation to ever have begun in the first place was the reformers' stance on Sola Scriptura - or Scripture Alone.

 

It is Christ. John said, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Bible contains the power of Christ and the words of everlasting life!

     I write these things so that you will know (and have a better appreciation for) the Bible and how it got to be what it is today. I want to also de-mystify the different translations so you're better equipped to choose the right one for you and your family.
